Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.Minimum Qualifications: Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program if they are registered as a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC), CASAC Level 2, CASAC-Advanced Counselor, or CASAC Master Counselor in New York State.ORCandidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Duties Description As an Addictions Counselor 1 at Kingsboro Psychiatric Center, you will provide addictions counseling and treatment services to individuals with mental illness. Duties include: Completing psychosocial assessments and substance-related screenings. Developing individualized treatment plans that include goals and objectives. Conducting individual and group counseling sessions. Monitoring and reporting on individuals' progress and maintaining records. Providing education and information to individuals families throughout the treatment process.Notes:1.
