Bensonhurst Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare is currently seeking Director of Housekeeping to join our dynamic team. Job Duties

The Director of Housekeeping, is responsible for the overall management of the Housekeeping and Laundry Department .You will manage the departments within the established objectives, standards, policies and procedures while executing the job description in accordance with federal, state and local regulations. You will be financially accountable for the operation of the department, ensuring it remains within the approved budget, while simultaneously providing the facility with the maximum outcomes. The director is expected to foster strong interdepartmental relations and integrate the environmental service department with the facility plan of operations.Director of Environmental Services Responsibilities

Maintains an environment that is in sanitary, attractive and in orderly condition

Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and supervises functions and activities of the departments

Plans work and staffing schedules and areas of work to ensure adequate services are rendered

Conducts regular management staff meetings and communicates with members of other departments to coordinate environmental service activities

Maintains the departments in an “inspection ready” state at all times, assuring the departments operates within federal, state, and local regulations

Assign staff to established work areas & duties.

Plan and coordinate project work.

Attend and participate in departmental staff meetings, development, and training courses.

Provide and monitor individual guidance and motivation to employees.

Assign equipment to staff; monitor daily equipment use, cleaning and maintenance.

Ensure that all equipment is clean and in working condition at all times.

Assist housekeepers as needed

Maintains excellent relations with residents, visitors, and all community departments

Serves on facility committees and professional organizations

Ensures that competency in the position is maintained by participating in Orientation, In-Service, and staff development training programs, as required

Follows all facility policies and procedures

Promotes the professional growth and development of the entire departmental teams

Implements change to the environmental service program that enhance the desirability of the community for current and future residents

Encourages and nurtures associate creativity and innovation with the Facility

Conducts daily QA rounds/inspections to ensure current quality controls and methodologies are suitable and sustainable.

Reports monthly initiatives, goals, and accomplishments

Promotes and monitors resident satisfaction

Position may require additional duties/responsibilities to be performed outside the scope outlined within this job description as needed by the Administrator
