The Medical Technologist performs qualitative and quantitative analysis on all specimens received in the laboratory for the station assigned.
The Technologist will have an understanding of the principles of tests performed and working knowledge of the equipment used in the station which they are assigned.
Specifically working in hematology responsible for urinalysis, coagulation and spinal counts.
Ensure that all specimens are put in appropriate storage.
Follow all quality control policies and procedures to ensure reliable patient results.
Recognize critical or life-threatening results,, verify results, and report to the appropriate clinician
Document all results in the LIS.
Shift: Evening, 4pm - 12am with rotating weekends (Will train on day shift to start)
Qualifications:
0 - 4 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting
NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License
ASCP Certification
Hematology/Chemistry experience
Reading differentials
