Senior Research Support SpecialistANNOUNCEMENT OFPROFESSIONALVACANCYApplications are invited for consideration to the following positionDepartment:MedicineBudget Title:Senior Research Support SpecialistSalary Range:(Based Upon Experience)$80,000.00Descriptive Title:Research Project ManagerFull-time, Monday - Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, 37.5 hours per week.Vacancy24-17Description of Duties:-Implementing and managing a study on the effects of state-level sex education policies and implementation, including budget monitoring, contributing to period reports required by funders, communicating with study team members via email, and helping with supervising students and research assistants -Implementing and managing a study on the ethics of HIV research with underage key populations in Africa (https://reporter.nih.gov/search/ZtT9a5DtA0qbboRE1Zsv5w/project details/10445571), including outreach to potential study partners and participants, setting up subawards and consulting agreements, purchasing supplies and services, programming surveys, monitoring participant recruitment, and managing participant incentives -Collaborating on Institutional Review Board application components including protocols, consent forms, surveys, interview and focus group guides, flyers and recruitment materials, amendments, and responses to reviewers -Assisting with grant proposals -Conducting qualitative research, including assisting with interviews and focus groups, analyzing qualitative data, and summarizing results -Conducting data analysis using Stata, including entering data, requesting data from organizations, merging datasets, data cleaning, cross-tabulations, chi-square tests, t-tests, and multivariable regression -Coauthoring abstracts for conferences, including creating posters and presentations using PowerPoint and recording presentations or attending virtually or in person to present -Coauthoring articles for peer-reviewed journals including conducting literature reviews, generating tables and figures, formatting manuscripts based on journal requirements, managing references, writing, editing, and responding to reviewers -Attend project-related meetingsQualifications:REQUIRED: Master's degree in public health, social sciences, or a related field; 2 or more years experience in managing research studies PREFERRED: Experience and comfort with HIV, sexual and reproductive health, and LGBTQ research; French language skills strongly preferredPersons interested should mail their resume and a letter of introductionAdditional Information:Interested candidates should submit their letter of introduction and resume to: ashley.grosso@downstate.eduClosing Date for Receipt of Applications: 04/24/24 The Research Foundation is committed to equal opportunity and non-discrimination in employment for all qualified persons without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, transgender status, national origin, citizenship, age, creed, disability, veteran status, marital status, familial status, military status, domestic violence victim status, sexual orientation, genetic characteristics/genetic information, pregnancy-related conditions, reproductive health decisions, prior arrest or conviction records, or any other trait protected by federal, state, or local law.
