The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for traininfg of employees (existing & new) in proper custodial procedures for the use of manually operated tools, electrically-powered machines, cleaning compounds, solvents & chemicals. Provides continuity of supervision & leadership by assuming the duties & responsibilities of other Custodians as required by special circumstances. Contributes to work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.Skills: Supervisory skills, management skills (planning & organizing), strong oral & written communications skills and the ability to train employees as required. The ability to inspect the cleanliness of areas that are only accessible by climbing ladders or stairs, bending, reaching, moving furniture, supplies or equipment. Requires the ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Must be able to stand & walk for long periods of time. Requires a full range of physical motion to operate manual & electrically powered cleaning equipment. Must be able to us independent judgment in certain situations.
