Treasury Liquidity Risk Analyst II (Hybrid - see details)

This is a hybrid position (part in-office/part remote work) requiring in-office work multiple days every week and is based in Buffalo, NY.Overview:Provides analysis and completes reports for liquidity risk management reporting to the senior management, including the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) and the Board of Directors with, limited guidance from senior analysts and manager. Works with senior analysts and manager to improve Liquidity Risk Management (LRM) reporting and assists in simplifying complex operations by independently getting data and other information needed to complete reports.Primary Responsibilities:

Update working files with pertinent information from within and outside Treasury. Build partnerships within Treasury and the lines of business to support receipt of this information in a timely manner.

Learn and increase proficiency in appropriate tools used in preparing and producing reports for LRM. Implement new ideas using these tools based on guidance provided from senior analysts and/or the manager.

Assist Liquidity Risk Management team by preparing, analyzing and reporting various liquidity stress scenarios modeled in QRM (Quantitative Risk Management) to support management of liquidity risk management sensitivity analyses.

Document procedures and controls for processes used to update files used for LRM reporting.

Document and maintain currency of procedures and controls for processes used in updating files for liquidity risk management reporting. Ensure documentation is written comprehensively to enable a new user to easily follow and replicate the process.

Stay abreast of current and proposed regulatory guidance and industry best business practices as they relate to liquidity risk management.

Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree with coursework and proven proficiency in Finance, Accounting or Economics and a minimum of 2 years’ related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 6 years' higher education and/or work experience in Finance, Accounting or Economics, including a minimum of 2 years’ related experience

Advanced computer skills and strong knowledge of pertinent spreadsheet and database software

Education and Experience Preferred:

Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)

Minimum of 2 years’ proven Liquidity Risk Management or Asset/Liability experience

Experience in mathematical modeling of financial instruments

Prior banking experience

Knowledge of bank products and services

Ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
