Overview:Manages the monitoring and/or completing of audits for an assigned area of the Bank to ensure adherence to internal policies, processes and external regulations. Manages the communication of findings to appropriate parties to mitigate recurring issues of the same nature; communicates with management as required. Ensures the identification of trends in discovered issues and the development and implementation of approved solutions to address.Primary Responsibilities:Manage the monitoring and/or completing of audits for an assigned area of the Bank to ensure adherence to internal policies and processes and external regulations.

Manage the identification of issues of non-compliance and the communication to appropriate parties, as well as the individual and management as warranted to prevent future recurrence.

Manage the maintenance of records of discovered deficiencies and the regular reporting and identification of trends in the data.Manage the development of recommendations and implementation of solutions to address these.

Ensure assigned staff maintain a current knowledge of the policies, processes and regulations affecting monitoring and/or auditing activities to ensure validity of analyses and findings.

Manage the identification of process or procedural improvements.Ensure the development of appropriate recommendations and the implementation of those approved.

Ensure an awareness of changes in internal policies and processes affecting activities monitored and/or audited to ensure currency of the approaches utilized.

Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

Complete other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities:This role manages a team responsible for monitoring and/or completing audits of activities within an assigned area of the bank, often focusing on call monitoring activities or smaller teams within a post approval process within a lending function.Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:Education and Experience Required:Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years' related experience as required by the line of business, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 6 years' higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 2 years' related experienceMinimum of 1 years' work leadership and/or supervisory experienceStrong analytical skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skillsEducation and Experience Preferred:Master's degreePrior managerial experiencePhysical Requirements:N/ALocationCheektowaga, New York, United States of AmericaM&T Bank Corporation is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer, including disabilities and veterans.
