Senior Analyst, International Trade ComplianceTracking Code20121447Job DescriptionResponsible for the development and implementation of international trade compliance programs for the organization. Prepare, submit and manage export license applications. Assist in maintaining accurate product Export and Import classifications. Acts as an Empowered Official, as required by the General Counsel or Sr. Associate General Counsel. As required, review and authorize compliance requests. Provide business area support with respect to USG export regulations and operations under export authorizations. Facilitate the ongoing enhancement of international trade compliance policies and procedures. Spearhead special trade compliance projects for the various business areas. Support the education of company personnel on export control issues and developments. Act as backup SME on the OCR EASE system. Facilitate the ongoing enhancement of international trade compliance policies and procedures.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Export licensing and Agreements – Prepare, submit and manage export license applications (Commerce, DSP-5, DSP-73, DSP-61, TAA, MLA, General Correspondence.) and other export-related documentation (including FOIA requests), plus license and agreements management; and perform intake /initial processing for the Legal Department and prepare reports/keep statistics with regard to the processing and other international trade compliance activities.

Empowered Official -As required by the General Counsel or Sr. Associate General Counsel, serve as an Empowered Official for Export Licensing and Compliance matters.

Product Classifications – Assist in maintaining accurate product Export and Import classifications, ECCN, ITAR category, HTS and Sched B codes, etc., and maintenance of the EASE database with all product Export and Import classifications. Attend meetings for and participate in the Telephonics’ Classification Council as Legal representative.

Compliance Requests – As required, review and authorize visitor and travel requests, as well as approve proposals, document marking, no cost sales orders, and other export-related compliance requests and documentation.

Business Area Support – Provide expert guidance to all Telephonics’ department/product lines with regard to the application and implementation of USG export regulations and operations under export authorizations.

Continuous improvement - Facilitate the ongoing enhancement of international trade compliance policies and procedures, including the creation of trade compliance standard work, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and Technology Control Plans for each business area, as required, and support government assessments, company initiatives, record keeping, and administrative tasks as needed.

Special projects - Spearhead special trade compliance projects for the various business areas, including Export Awareness Month; and other miscellaneous projects and reporting requests.

Training - Support the education of company personnel on export control issues and developments.

EASE system – Act as backup SME on the OCR EASE system.

Certified Customs Specialist (Preferred) – maintain accurate product HTS and Schedule B codes, maintenance of EASE database with all import classifications, and support continuous improvement of import processes at Telephonics.

Required SkillsEDUCATION: B.S. Degree in Business Administration or Liberal ArtsEXPERIENCE: 10+ years, with at least 7 years’ in-depth experience working with U.S. export and import regulations including, but not limited to the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations

A proven ability to perform analysis of export control requirements and strategies and apply them to business requirements, as well as experience in the drafting and review of export licenses (ITAR and EAR).

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Access, Project, Visio, PowerPoint and Outlook)

A focused team player able to balance competing concerns and work in a time-sensitive environment.

Works with minimal supervision

Demonstrates the ability to analyze and solve general to moderately complex problems

Demonstrates application of industry business practices and concepts

Attention to detail and follow through on tasks assigned

Prior experience with OCR Ease software

Must have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret Clearance, which includes US Citizenship.
