Req Number 142029Job DescriptionOperates Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Explains procedure to patient, position and immobilize patient on exam table and observe during scan under direction of physician. Monitors video display of area being scanned and adjust density or contrast to improve picture quality.Job Responsibility

Performs thorough screening of patients prior to procedure.

Ensures no metal objects accompany patient into procedure room.

Checks patient creatinine level and calculates glomerular filtration rate (GFR) to determine if patient can receive IV contrast material.

Reviews and ensures accuracy of screening forms completed by patient, including the IV contrast materials information sheet.

Explains procedures and sets up equipment to administer the proper procedure in a timely fashion.

Ensures that a consent form for IV.

contrast materials has been obtained.

Performs MRI procedures to include: abdominal, thoracic, neurological exams, extremities, sub-periosteal implant planning, radiation therapy treatment planning, biopsies etc.

Prepares patient for exam by placing and positioning patient on exam table within the gantry.

Enters patient history data and other pertinent information obtained from a requisition completed by the Radiologist to include anatomical area of interest.

Job Qualification

Vocational or Technical school Diploma required.

Current License to practice as a Radiologist in New York State,

and Current ARRT Radiology registration required, plus specialized certifications as needed.

1-3 years of technical experience, required.

Additional Details:

Ability to work within the operating hours: Monday - Friday (6:30am - 10pm), rotating Saturday/Sunday (8:30am-5pm)
