Overview:Monitors and/or completes audits of activities of a complex nature within an assigned area of the Bank to ensure adherence to internal policies, processes and external regulations. Communicates findings to appropriate parties to mitigate recurring issues of the same nature. Identify trends in discovered issues and recommend solutions to address.Primary Responsibilities:

Monitor and/or complete audits of activities of a complex nature within an assigned area of the Bank to ensure adherence to internal policies and processes and external regulations.

Identify issues of non-compliance and communicate to appropriate parties as well as the individual employee as warranted to prevent future recurrence.

Maintain records of discovered deficiencies.Complete regular reporting on these activities.Identify trends in the data and recommend changes in policies and processes to address these.

Maintain a current knowledge of the policies, processes and regulations affecting monitoring and/or auditing activities to ensure validity of analyses and findings.

Identify potential areas for process or procedural improvements.Make recommendations and assist in implementing those approved.

Provide guidance and training to less experienced personnel.

Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

Complete other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities:This role monitors and/or completes audits of activities of a complex nature, either from a call monitoring and/or post-approval process within a lending function.Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:Education and Experience Required:Associates' degree and a minimum of 2 years' work experience in the area supported, or in lieu of a degree a combined minimum of 4 years' higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 2 years' work experience in the area supportedStrong analytical skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsProficiency with pertinent spreadsheet, word processing, database and presentation softwareDetail-orientedEducation and Experience Preferred:Bachelor's degreePrior experience providing written or verbal feedbackPhysical Requirements:N/AM&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees.
