Kingston Bread + Bar in Uptown Kingston is hiring a line cook. Our line cooks start at $17 an hour plus a portion of tips from each shift (bringing actual hourly rate up to $19-$21 on average), and are eligible for paid time off and 401K. We are looking to fill two weekly shifts right now, and Sundays are a must. Additional shifts will likely become available as we transition into the busier spring and summer seasons. Position Overview:
On top of our bread and pastries, KB+B is known for our delicious and unique sandwiches. During the day we prepare made-to-order hot and cold sandwiches, always on fresh-baked, house-made bread. The line cook will be responsible for cooking and constructing these sandwiches, as well as doing some prep for service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up and break down station at open and close
- Cook and assemble sandwiches to order
- Assist in cooking and prep for specials and sandwich ingredients
- Maintain a clean and organized work space
- Follow company safety procedures and protocols
Qualifications:
- Experience working in a professional kitchen or bakery
- Experience working a fast paced line in a restaurant or sandwich shop
- Ability to stand and work for shifts of 8 hours
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Available on weekends
- Reliable transportation + communication
