Surgical Coordinator, UHS Wilson Square United Health Services is seeking a Surgical Coordinator to join our Surgery 02 department at UHS Wilson Square in Johnson City, NY. This position is benefits eligible.ShiftDayHours per week: 40Salary range: $17.19 - $24.42 per hour, depending on experience.OverviewUnder the direction of the medical providers, this position’s primary function is to schedule surgical procedures. The responsibilities of the Surgical Scheduler include: scheduling surgical procedure in ORSOS, scheduling all pre- and post-operative appointments and obtaining authorization. The Surgical Scheduler works closely with the clinical team, medical providers and hospital staff to provide timely care for our patients.QualificationsEducation/ExperienceMinimum Required:
High School Graduate or equivalent
Two (2) years experience working in healthcare
Two (2) years experience working in customer service
Proficient PC skills
Knowledge of Medical Terminology
Preferred:
AAS in an accredited MOA program or equivalent
Knowledge of insurance referral process
Basic computer skills; HER, Excel, Microsoft Office
Previous experience in OR Scheduling
License/CertificationPreferred:
Current drivers license
