Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a BUDGET ANALYST, Position Description Number T6356000 and is part of the MEDICAL COMMAND, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. Responsibilities As a BUDGET ANALYST GS-0560-09, you will perform in any segment of the normal range of budget administration work performed by the organization including budget formulation, budget presentation-enactment, or budget execution. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: To meet basic entry qualification requirements, evaluate applicants for experience, education, or training involving skills in applying problem solving techniques; and skills in communicating effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to plan and organize work. Competencies in analysis, research, writing, and judgment typically gained through college education or progressively responsible experiences. Ability to follow established methods and procedures; use practical knowledge of the operations, procedures, and policies of specific program areas or functional assignment. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1 year equivalent specialized experience to at least the next lower grade level. Must have fundamental working experiences with validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the budget analysis occupational series and grade. Must have experience, education, or training of finance budget competencies that provided knowledge of financial principles and procedures. Candidate must have a good understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the National Guard financial budget business program requirements. A candidate must have experiences and training that demonstrate the abilities to follow directions, to read, retain, and understand a variety of instructions, regulations, policies, and procedures. Education If you are using Education to qualify for this position, To qualify, the applicant must have a completed undergraduate or graduate education, the college degree education must be in one of, or be a combination of the following required disciplines: accounting, business, finance, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organizational management. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Applicants, who completed a military financial technical school course and were awarded the applicable and compatible military skills, are considered qualified for GS-09 level positions. You must provide a copy of Official Transcripts as documentation to support your educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position. This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG. Superior Qualifications and Special Needs Pay-setting Authority may be considered for this position. TAG is final approval authority for incentive programs (applicable to newly appointed federal employees or those with a 90 day break in service).
