Head Chef - Italian/Continental cuisine

We are a well established Huntington Restaurant that is seeking an energetic, forward thinking Head Chef. All positions in place just looking for someone to lead our team. This is a position for someone who has a true passion for cooking/creating and wants to constantly elevate their craft and with the knowledge of current food trends as well as traditional methods of cooking.

We are located in Huntington Village which is 1 hour from NYC and 40 minutes from the Queens-Nassau border.

Strong work ethic with a positive approach to cooking and leadership

Ability to create seasonal menu items

Good communicator with owner, management and all staff

In charge of food ordering/food cost and BOH hiring/scheduling/labor cost

Dessert and pastry knowledge a plus

Work well under pressure - Drama Free

Clean and efficient- Ensure a deep cleaning schedule and maintenance of equipment

Culinary degree is preferred but not required

Have current DOH food handlers license and understand health codes

Must be able to meet physical demands of the position including standing for extended periods of time, bending, pulling, pushing, carrying up to 50lbs etc.
