Are you a natural-born leader who loves construction and managing hard-working teams?
Our construction company needs an experienced Construction Project Manager to take charge of project plans from start dates through completion, overseeing General Contractors for quality, efficiency, and adherence to the predetermined budget and schedule.
We move at a fast pace! As the Project Manager, you will be staying on top of 4-12 projects at any given time, depending on project size. You will have a high level of autonomy. We don’t want to micro-manage you, but we will expect you to deliver.
Applicants must have extensive experience solving problems as they come up, delegating promptly and effectively, coordinating schedules, and communicating daily.
If you’re looking for a role where you can deliver a successful project—on time, on budget, and to the agreed-upon quality level—from beginning to end, this is the job for you. Apply today!
Construction Project Manager Responsibilities
Our goal is to fill this role with a fantastic PM who works with us for many years to come, providing you with a stable, fulfilling, and rewarding way to meet your personal goals while contributing your gifts to the world.
Here is the type of person we’re looking for:
You’re a Scope Master. You determine project deliverables and specifications, including scope, resources, and labor, by collaborating with clients, engineers, and architects.
You understand dollars and cents. You calculate the cost estimate of all project tasks and accurately manage the project budget.
Planning and scheduling are second nature to you. You plan well in advance and schedule the entire construction project, including ordering, operations, permits, and inspections.
You’re a Leader. You manage General Contractors and construction workers, give guidance, and keep everyone accountable.
You know communication is Key. You communicate the status of the building project and any upcoming roadblocks to key stakeholders with regular progress reports.
You have ASTOUNDING attention to detail and a memory of a bloody elephant. Multi-tasking and organizational skills run deep in your DNA.
THIS IS A DEAL-BREAKER. You must set priorities, keep track of several projects at a time, not let critical tasks fall through the cracks, and get things done.
You are a follow-up/follow-through King. You leverage systems, so follow-up dates for the next steps run like clockwork. With you, little to nothing slips through the cracks
You absolutely LOVE what you do. No clock-watchers! Your focus is on getting the job done - not getting the job done before the whistle blows. You may have to sit and finish something after everyone has gone home so you can deliver on what you promised.
You can tolerate being pushed! We guarantee we will push you outside of your comfort zone. If you’re ok with personal development and being stretched at times, you’ll be a perfect fit.
You’re not a pushover, but you’re fair in your negotiations. You can work with General Contractors, key subcontractors, and external vendors to negotiate profitable contracts.
You mind safety. You demand complete adherence to health and safety standards and report on issues promptly to prevent injuries, slowdowns, and project risks.
Finally, You are a DIAMOND. Diamonds are created under pressure, and you’ll find yourself in plenty of situations where you need to be lighting fast, ultra-accurate, and absolutely on your game, all in a very, very short space of time.
Remember You will be performing and delivering on all of the above on multiple projects at a time. Still with us?
Here are sample challenges you will face:
1. Guiding, empowering, and holding project leads accountable to set daily goals and adjusting to any delays immediately.
2. Enforcing schedules, budgets, and scope agreements with General Contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers and adjusting to any changes immediately.
3. Managing each project efficiently while keeping all projects in mind regarding material and labor resources to meet all deadlines.
4. Identifying and vetting General Contractors, subcontractors, and vendors in a challenging labor market.
