Implement individual and group treatment plans for students requiring physical therapy interventions.

Develop and present therapeutic activities tailored to benefit special education students, fostering their physical development in an inclusive environment.

Review clinical records of students receiving physical therapy, ensuring completeness of data and accurate documentation.

Maintain accurate attendance and anecdotal records for students undergoing physical therapy sessions.

Participate actively in multidisciplinary and parent conferences, contributing insights into student progress and offering recommendations for tailored therapy programs.

Collaborate with school staff and supervisors, providing guidance on therapeutic interventions, appropriate use of equipment, and assessing students' functional levels.

Consult with parents/guardians, outlining treatment goals and specialized recommendations to enhance students' functional abilities in both classroom and home settings.

Coordinate the procurement of supplies and equipment required for the physical therapy program and maintain a comprehensive inventory of materials.

Liaise with primary care facilities regarding students' medical needs, adaptive equipment requirements, ensuring continuity of services between school and home settings.

Requirements:

Valid State NYS Physical Therapy Assistant license from the New York State Office of Professions.

Associates degree from a CAPTE-accredited program.

Prior experience in a similar educational or clinical setting preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Ability to adapt and work within diverse environments and varying student needs.

Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and record-keeping.
