Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Long Island City, New York. This role is in the financial industry and requires an individual who can handle account and balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management. As a Sr. Accountant, you will also be expected to handle journal entries, use Microsoft Excel, and work with systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP.Responsibilities: Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance. Perform balance sheet reconciliations, review variances, and resolve issues. Carry out bank reconciliations to confirm all transactions are recorded correctly in the financial system. Provide general ledger management to ensure financial integrity and transparency. Generate journal entries for financial transactions and events. Utilize Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and data management. Ensure timely completion of month-end close procedures. Operate NetSuite for financial reporting and accounting tasks. Utilize Oracle for database management and data entry tasks. Employ SAP for enterprise resource planning and data management. Requirements Proficiency in Account Reconciliation Expertise in Balance Sheet Reconciliation Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations Ability to manage General Ledger Experience in creating Journal Entries Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Experience with Month End Close process Knowledge of NetSuite software Experience in using Oracle Proficiency in SAP software Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Attention to detail and high level of accuracy Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines Knowledge of accounting principles and practices Experience in preparing financial reports Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools related to accounting.
