Req Number 141142Northwell Health is excited to announce the New York State Department of Health approved Certified Nurse Assistant Training Program at The Stern Family Center for Rehabilitation. Candidates who are accepted will receive paid training during the 6-week full-time program. Upon successful completion of the program, trainees will be scheduled to take the New York State CNA exam and once certified will be promoted to a full-time CNA position on the evening or night shift. Graduates are expected to work for 2 years as a CNA within Northwell Health.Under direction and supervision of Registered Nurse, the CNA provides patient supervision, maintains safety of patient and completes observation flow sheets.Job Responsibility

Functions as a co-worker to the nurse and a key member of the nursing care team, and provides patient supervision and communicates changes in patient condition to the nurse in change.

Documents accurately on Constant Observation flow sheet.

Interacts with patients, visitors and staff to support patient's specific needs related to age, culture, spiritual, physical, and mental challenges.

Provides for a safe environment for patient safety.

Maintains safety of patient by requesting assistance from others for personal care needs of patient.

Accompanies patients to other departments.

Maintains patient environment that is free of clutter and potential hazards.

Reports defective equipment and unsafe conditions.

Follows policy for Constant Observation at all times.

Job Qualification

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

0-1 years of relevant experience, required.
