Job Summary: As an Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of our organization. Your responsibilities will span various accounting functions, including preparing accurate and timely financial statements, general ledger management, and producing monthly operating statements for over 12 programs. Attention to detail and a commitment to precision are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities: While the following list is not exhaustive, it provides an overview of the key responsibilities associated with this position:

1. Month-End Accounting Process:

o Conduct the month-end accounting process to finalize and close out all financial activities for the agency.

o Review, document, and meticulously reconcile all previous month's financial transactions.

2. Financial Account Closure:

o Close revenue and expense accounts promptly.

o Ensure the accurate closure of liability and asset accounts (including accounts payable and receivable).

3. Financial Analysis and Reporting:

o Update fixed asset schedules to maintain accurate records.

o Prepare insightful budget vs. actual analyses.

o Generate monthly invoices and billing reports.

o Monitor expenditure variances and submit budget modification requests as needed.

o Create program financial statements as required by funding sources or program management.

4. Audit Support:

o Prepare comprehensive supporting schedules for the annual audit.

o Review financial information across various programs and provide detailed reports to finance staff and program management.

o Record precise general ledger entries.

5. Grant Management:

o Prepare supporting schedules as requested by funding sources.

o Reconcile various grants, ensuring accuracy.

o Regularly prepare and upload invoices while meticulously reconciling the general ledger.

6. Payroll and Cost Allocation:

o Assist in preparing salary details and other schedules for CFR (Cost and Financial Reporting).

o Seamlessly interface ADP Payroll with the General Ledger.

o Develop and maintain cost allocation schedules.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Business Administration or higher degree in accounting

At least 3-5 years of experience in a not-for-profit setting with contract billing

High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Experience with HHS Accelerator/ Passport is helpful.

Experience with CFR

Experience with MIP Fund Accounting a plus.

Strong analytical, interpersonal skills

Annual Salary

$75,000 - $80,000
