Job Description: A large co-op in Brooklyn is seeking a dedicated and experienced Superintendent. This is a live-in position, requiring the successful candidate to manage a large staff and oversee the day-to-day operations of the property.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and maintain the physical plant and mechanical systems.
Conduct daily inspections of the property and all buildings.
Interact with residents in a pleasant and respectful manner, addressing their needs and concerns.
Ensure the property is managed in accordance with the co-op's rules and regulations.
Uphold honesty and integrity in all tasks.
Supervise and coordinate the work of a large staff, ensuring high standards of performance and efficiency.
Ensuring staff maintain cleanliness of buildings common areas both inside and outside the buildings including snow removal when required.
Supervise repairs conducted by unit owners and coordinate with outside vendors to ensure work is completed to standards.
Communicate effectively with residents and resolve issues promptly through email, text, and phone
Requirements:
Must possess S-12 and S-13 certifications.
Proficiency in speaking, writing, and understanding English.
Previous building service experience and supervision is required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to monitor and use email.
Computer skills required (word/excel)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of NYC Building Codes and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Painting/plastering skills required.
Prior experience as a contractor/carpenter is desirable.
