Leave It Better Internship Program
We are currently seeking Interns for Spring 2025 and are now accepting applications.
Leave It Better Foundation is a non-profit dedicated to student-led holistic health. Students learn gardening, crafting, filmmaking, meditation and much more. leaveitbetter.org.
The Internship Program allows a small group of dedicated people to join our team, contributing to our organization in many different ways- from teaching middle schoolers how to compost and grow food to teaching students how to cook soup and make hummus. Interns will have access to our editing and camera equipment, if applicable- and will be provided specific instruction on cinematography, editing, and youth education, as needed. We split time working in the field and working remotely.
Criteria
Interns will work 2-3 days a week for approx. 8-12 hours per week during the Spring 2025 Internship Cycle. Upon completion of the internship a $1,200 stipend will be paid.
Opportunities for Leave It Better Foundation:
reGeneration Corps Member:
reGeneration Corps Members teach students how to compost, grow food, and produce short documentaries as part of Leave It Better’s educational program, called the reGeneration. We’re currently in seven schools, grades K-12, in the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Manhattan. Passion for environmental education is a must, and experience working with kids is recommended.
Leave It Better Kids Garden Corps:
We’ve taken an abandoned plot of land in Morris Heights in the Bronx and transformed it into a community garden with youth being the leaders each week. The Leave It Better Kids Garden intern will work to help plan, plant, grow and harvest vegetables at the garden for the upcoming 2025 growing season. This will entail working with kids. Passion for gardening is a must, and experience working with kids is recommended.
Leave It Better Communications Corps:
We’ve got a lot of great stories to tell and are looking for someone who loves social media and marketing to get the word out about our amazing students and the work they are doing to bring health to themselves and the world around them. This will be a hybrid position- splitting time documenting in the classroom, and sharing ideas on our various platforms.
