K-2 ELA & Math After-School Teacher
We are a dynamic and fast-growing learning center in Astoria, Queens, seeking a passionate and dedicated B-2 or 1-6 certified teacher for our K-2 ELA & Math after-school program! Job Details:
Position: K-2 ELA & Math After-School Teacher
Location: Astoria, Queens
Schedule: Classes run Monday through Saturday; preferably available from 3 PM - 7 PM on weekdays and 9 AM - 4 PM on Saturdays. Must be available for a minimum of 3-4 days per week.
Subjects: English Language Arts (ELA) & Math
Grade Levels: Kindergarten to 2nd Grade
Qualifications (Must Have):
New York State B-2 or 1-6 teaching certification
Experience working with children in K-2
Ability to conduct running records and assess student progress
Skills to develop customized lessons that meet students' individual needs
Strong classroom management skills and a positive, engaging teaching style
Available to teach at least 3-4 days per week
Preferred (Not Required, But a Plus):
Bilingual (any language)
Orton-Gillingham trained
Fundations/Wilson trained
Responsibilities:
Deliver structured and engaging lessons in ELA and Math for K-2 students
Assess and track student progress using running records
Develop lesson plans tailored to help each student improve in reading, writing, and math
Write detailed and content-specific progress notes after each session
Communicate with parents regarding student performance and progress
