We're a busy Design / Build firm in need of some support for the design team.
Ideally, you've either recently graduated from a related field : Interior Design or Architecture, or, are still pursuing your degree but are able to carve out around 40 hours a week to help us out.
This is //// NOT //// a position where you'll just be doing glorified "intern" tasks.
This //// IS //// a position where you will get to apply technical skills , build your resume / portfolio , and gain a st ton of "in-project" / "real-time" / "on-site" experience.
Preferred skillset would include =
-> Sourcing and researching items for projects as needed.
-> Directing 3D schematic renderings
-> Handling architectural finish selections
-> Ordering
-> Producing design documentation
-> Overseeing drawing production
-> Redlining ( with attention to detail )
-> Value engineering
-> Working within design budgets
-> Develop design process including mood boards / color palettes and material selections
-> Understand client objectives / desires
-> Communicate effectively
-> Prepare presentations
-> Maintain industry knowledge
-> Develop relationships with vendors
-> Obtain quotes from vendors
-> Following up on / tracking items
-> Keeping projects organized and on schedule
-> Draw floor plans & elevation drawings ( In AutoCad )
-> Maintain project binders / information organizing platforms : like : CoConstruct / GoogleSheets etc
-> Ability to visit job sites and take site measurements as needed
Most essential skills required =
-> Rhinoceros
-> Proficient in AutoCad
-> Proficient in Adobe creative suites
-> Familiarity with Revit
If all goes well =
-> The goal here is to bring someone up to speed on basically everything that's /less/ client facing, with the hope that as those tasks become familiar, and competency is displayed, we can promote you to a more senior / client facing role; whereby, you'd have projects that are completely yours exclusively.
