Junior Structural Engineer: Entry level position
A Degree of Freedom Structural Engineer PLLC (ADoF) is a young and dynamic 12 person structural engineering design firm located in NYC. We provide structural design services for buildings up to $75m budget in the NYC /Tri State area. Our clients are a mix of developers, contractors, architects and individual property owners.
The position will offer the opportunity to gain structural design experience on new residential structures (up to 20 story) and varied experiences with alt/ren of low rise /historic buildings in lower Manhattan/Brooklyn (Cast Iron framed/ wood framed /terracotta slabs /unreinforced masonry buildings).
The position will require independent problem solving and the implementation of standard engineering practices to direct the flow of engineering work. This requires the candidate to have a strong knowledge of statics, ability to adapt and manipulate ability to understand and comprehend structural sketches/drawings and concepts.
The qualified candidate will work with a series of project engineers and assist in coordinate structural engineering design with other design team members and liaise with architect/developer.
In addition to hand calculations and sketching, the applicant will gain experience with the following software programs:
Analysis: STAAD, RAM STEEL/FRAME, ETABS, SAFE,
Modeling : Revit /BIM and Autocad

Salary:
The entry level position will be paid for a 40 hour work week. Position offers 20 x 8 hour PTO annually, Health/Dental and Vision insurance. Employer matching contribution to 401k
