Description We are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in the non-profit sector in New York. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining all aspects of accounts payable, including processing payments, reconciling accounts, and responding to vendor inquiries. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: Manage and process monthly recurring payments such as rents and utilities. Review, code, and post invoices to the appropriate general ledger and cost centres using MIP accounting software. Assist in reconciling receipts with the monthly Amex statement. Update and maintain vendors' information in the MIP accounting software. Handle the posting of credit memos and voiding of checks. Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements to identify any discrepancies. Review petty cash requests from programs. Perform check runs, sort and match checks with invoices, and prepare checks for mailing. Assist with the distribution of payroll and consultants checks on a bi-weekly basis. Reconcile receipts to original employee advance vouchers. Maintain and organize Accounts Payable files and historical records. Work on special assignments as necessary. Requirements Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in an Accounts Payable Clerk role or similar. Demonstrated proficiency in Account Reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations. Solid understanding and practical experience with Accounts Payable (AP). Experience in performing Check Runs, ensuring timely and accurate payments. Familiarity with Coding Invoices, ensuring they are correctly categorized for accounting purposes. Proficient in Data Entry, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. Experience in Invoice Processing, ensuring prompt and accurate payments. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create and manage spreadsheets. Experience with Abila MIP accounting software is a plus.
