Reports to: Manager of Gas Technical ServicesLocation: Binghamton, NY or Rochester, NYThe salary range for this position is dependent on experience level ranging from $62,000 to $90,000.Job SummaryUnder the supervision and guidance of engineering staff, provide technical support for planning, design, operation and maintenance of the gas distribution and transmission systems. Understand and apply fundamental engineering principles, industry knowledge and regulatory standards to assist in the development of engineered solutions and recommendations to enhance the safety and reliability of the natural gas networks.Responsibilities Supporting and maintaining Project and Program data, information, and records. Working with various amounts and types of data; soliciting information across various company functions and groups; utilizing data management software, GIS, and databases such as MS Excel or MS Access.Supporting internal and external R&D Projects, the Transmission and Distribution Integrity Management Programs, gas system material suitability analysis, material failure analysis, material specifications, material related data and material standards documentation and records in accordance with established processes and procedures. Support leak prone main prioritization by maintaining and asset condition records. Assist with development of various engineering reports, presentations, and documentation.Skills and RequirementsGeneral Engineering knowledge - Planning, Operations and Engineering Design, Analytic, modeling & Calculation, understanding the business model; Global View of the Business (Values cross-functional collaboration, understands importance of growing knowledge and developing relationships and links across the organization)Computer skills - Ability to learn and utilize new engineering specific software. Strong understanding of database programs (Access, Oracle, etc.).
