compensation: $20/hr to start: part-time
We are a well-established, boutique dog daycare with a dedicated and upbeat staff. Our shop is big, sunny, with a happy vibe. You will have great people to work with and the dogs are pretty great too:)
This job is part-time, between 25 to 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We are closed on major holidays. If you are a student, we can try to work around your school schedule.
The shifts are 8:00 am to 1:00pm and 1:00 pm to 6 pm. You may be asked to work different shifts on different days. Being on time for your shift is critical.
You must have some prior experience working with dogs: as a walker, volunteer, groomer, long-time dog owner, etc. and a genuine love of dogs.
The primary purpose of our facility is to take loving care of other people's pets during the day. You'll be on your feet most of the time, engaging the pups in play, cleaning up after them, feeding them, administering medications, and seeing to their comfort and security. You'll also have to walk dogs to and from their homes (within a few block radius of our shop).
Positive energy, a quick pace and a good sense of humor are critical for both the dogs and the rest of the staff. We have a good time at work and want to continue that vibe with the right person.
The starting salary is $20 per hour, with two week's paid vacation per year, including the week between Christmas and New Year, when we close. A higher starting salary may be offered depending on experience and managerial skills. Living within an easy and fast commute to Downtown Brooklyn is a BIG plus.
