Job Description

Columbia University’s Summer Program for High School Students is seeking MBA degree holders (or equivalent) to develop and teach intensive three- and one-week online courses for academically exceptional high school students.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop course content, syllabus, lesson plan, and assigned work (past syllabi will be available)

  • Lead all class sessions (two hours every morning and afternoon for either 14 or 5 days).

  • Establish and maintain a dynamic in-class environment.

  • Evaluate student work and write a holistic evaluation of each participant after the course ends.

  • Monitor and address student concerns and inquiries (you will have around 20-24 students).

Three-Week Courses:

Each course runs for two hours every morning and afternoon, Monday - Friday. Dates can be found on the course description pages above

Qualifications

Requirements

  • MBA degree or equivalent professional or academic background.

  • Expertise in the pertinent subject matter.

  • Aptitude for teaching.

  • Please submit a resume inclusive of teaching experience as well as formal teaching evaluations.

  • Compensation is approximately$8,000 for 3-week sessions and $2,900 for 1-week sessions

  • Applicants must have U.S. work authorization,will not be able to hold any concurrent appointments at Columbia University, and will need to be in the U.S. while teaching.
