Collider is looking for a News Editor to oversee Movie/TV content under the leadership of our Deputy Editor. The selected candidate will have tremendous career growth opportunities within the organization. Please note that this role does not involve video editing or script editing. Responsibilities
Edit and publish a minimum of 16 movie/TV articles per day on the Movie/TV News team
Collaborate with other editors across the News vertical
Assure there is content to be published and planned on current News topics
Participate in writer development and general writer management
Oversee and facilitate writer communication in Slack/Asana
Send feedback to writers according to Collider's standards (as per our writing guides)
Work with new writers to develop their skills and help them adapt to Collider's standards
Work with existing writers to develop those suitable for internal development (staff writing, self-publishing, editing)
Auditing Content Value and implementing best practices
Ensure daily and monthly News output goals are met
Assessing and implementing strategies that drive News operational improvements
Assist with developing content plans during major events like SDCC, D23, NYCC, and other festivals.
Requirements
Relevant experience in senior writing and editing roles (digital publications, entertainment content)
An understanding of News content
Broad knowledge of Movies/TV in general, especially major franchises (DC Movies, MCU, Star Wars, Star Trek, popular streaming content)
Quick learner with strong sense of urgency
Excellent command of the English language
Ability to write/edit articles that are free of typos and grammatical errors

Freelance writer management
Proven track record of growing a team, expanding coverage, and driving traffic
Comfortable working in a Slack team environment
