Description Corporate ControllerPosition Overview:Our client, a leader in their industry, is seeking a Corporate Controller, General Ledger to join their Finance Group. Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, this role oversees the general ledger month-end close, group consolidation, accounts payable, and technical accounting processes. The position involves managing both domestic and offshore teams and working closely with international accounting teams and cross-functional partners. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys tackling complex challenges under tight deadlines.Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the month-end close process and group consolidation with a focus on accurate financial reporting and adherence to US GAAP.

Manage close tools, ensuring accountability for close timelines across accounting teams.

Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, and purchase accounting entries.

Ensure consistent revenue and expense recognition across all entities.

Review consolidated income statements and balance sheet analytics on a monthly basis.

Collaborate with the financial planning and analysis team on reporting and analytics.

Partner with M& A accounting teams and external valuation firms on business combination valuations and accounting.

Oversee the accounts payable process, driving efficiencies in collaboration with procurement, technology, and business teams.

Prepare technical accounting position papers and document policies and procedures.

Lead automation and finance transformation projects and support integration of acquired entities and foreign operations.

Monitor developments in accounting and reporting regulations, assessing their impact.

Create and distribute accurate internal reports to stakeholders.

Maintain effective controls, policies, and procedures over month-end activities.

Manage and develop a high-performing accounting team.

Assist in preparing US GAAP financial statements and disclosures.

Collaborate with internal audit teams on controls and external auditors on financial audits and statutory audits.

Take on other duties and ad-hoc projects as needed.

Skills and Competencies:

Advanced knowledge of US GAAP, including business combinations and consolidation accounting (required).

Strong communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.

Ability to handle multiple projects and tight deadlines.

Analytical and decision-making expertise.

Advanced Excel skills (required).

Experience with systems like Oracle, Coupa, Workiva, and FloQast (a plus).

Requirements

Requirements and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential (required).

10–15 years of progressive accounting experience, including 6+ years in a supervisory role.

Big 4 experience combined with private industry experience (required).

Experience in public companies (preferred).

Proven experience designing and implementing SOX-compliant policies and procedures (required).

Experience in multinational businesses with multiple geographical entities (preferred).

Familiarity with shared services and offshore environments (a plus).
