About the RoleWe have an outstanding opportunity for a skilled lawyer to join our Product Legal team supporting Uber's Consumer Vehicles products. The Product Legal team provides centralized ownership of all product-related legal work in HQ and offers guidance and support to the US operations teams. The role will focus on product development counseling, regulatory advising, and commercial transactions for the Carshare and Uber Rent products.This position can be based in Washington, DC, San Francisco, CA, or New York, NY, and will report to a Director focused on Mobility Product Legal.What You'll Do

Be an active and trusted business partner and ensure the provision of timely business-focused advice to the Consumer Vehicles team.

Lead legal reviews of new expansions of products, features, and markets being launched within the Carshare and Uber Rent spaces, advising on how to position and structure these launches to reduce risk.

Perform regulatory diligence prior to new market launches for Carshare and Uber Rent, which may include direct engagement with regulatory authorities.

Draft and negotiate contracts with vendors/rental car companies in support of the Carshare and Uber Rent products.

Assist with legal reviews for other product proposals within the Mobility team, including product and feature launches for the Uber Driver App.

Work collaboratively with specialist internal legal teams and regional legal teams to provide comprehensive and cohesive advice.

Be a strong communicator to effectively support a high-performing, diverse team to achieve our legal and regulatory priorities.

Basic Qualifications

Minimum of five (5) years of legal experience focused on contract negotiations, regulatory work, and/or product counseling OR minimum 4 years of legal experienc +1 year Uber internal experience.

J.D. and license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.

Preferred Qualifications

In-house experience is a plus!

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year. For Washington, DC-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
