Description Robert Half is partnering with a leading financial services company based in the heart of New York City. With a commitment to excellence, innovation, and client satisfaction, we have established ourselves as a key player in the financial industry. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Director of Financial Reporting to join our dynamic team. This would be the number one Accounting professional on the team and would be responsible for building out the Accounting function as well as grow the teamAs the Director of Financial Reporting, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public accounting, specifically from a Big 4 firm, and possess a CPA designation. This is a leadership role that requires strategic thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Responsibilities:

Oversee the preparation and submission of accurate financial reports in compliance with regulatory requirements, including SEC filings.

Manage the financial reporting team, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure departmental goals and objectives are met.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management, legal, and audit teams, to address complex accounting issues and ensure alignment with company objectives.

Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations, providing expertise to interpret and implement these changes within the organization.

Lead the implementation and improvement of financial reporting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Conduct regular reviews of financial statements, footnotes, and other disclosures to identify and address any potential issues or discrepancies.

Support external audit processes and liaise with auditors to facilitate a smooth and efficient audit.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation is required.

7-10 years of progressive experience in financial reporting, with a significant portion gained in a Big 4 public accounting firm.

Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.

Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.

Proven experience managing a team and driving process improvements.

Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality and accurate financial information.
