Seeking a reliable and caring dog walker for my sweet, aging, yet energetic, surprisingly strong 35lb French Bulldog. The job involves walking her twice a day, every day, (except for Thursday mornings) at the same time each day to maintain her routine.
The ideal walk times would be 9am and 6pm for 20 minutes each walk, but these times are flexible as long as it’s the same times every day. In the winter once she gets into a routine she might only want to walk for 10 minutes, and that is fine as long as she does #1 & #2.
If you are interested but can only do 3-4 of the 7 days, please reach out as I am open to having two walkers for her as long as all the days/times are covered.
Details:
Location: Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, steps away from the C-Train. Clinton Avenue between Atlantic and Fulton Avenues.
Rate: $140/week. $560/month.
Schedule: Twice daily walks, same time each day.
Qualifications:
Ideal candidate lives close by and/or can travel to the apartment easily, and make some slight schedule changes every once in a while as needed.
Should have some prior dog-walking experience and a love for dogs.
Be able to be vigilant to ensure she doesn’t eat off the ground or interact with other dogs, and provide her treats as she walks.
Provide a safe, enjoyable walking experience for her.
Bonus points if you have extensive dog experience, but basic qualifications are fine as long as you’re attentive and caring. Must also be comfortable working with LGBTQ owners.
A little more about the owner & dog:
I am a professional that works from home and might be home when you come by for the walks, but less so on weekends. I have a busy work schedule and chronic health issues that impair my ability to keep my dog on a schedule, which is becoming increasingly difficult as she ages. I need someone compassionate, reliable, and who can handle a very sweet but slightly stubborn Frenchie who likes to power play a bit on her walks, might pull, roll, or try to eat things off the ground. Watching her like a hawk is the hardest thing to do while walking her, and you will have to carry treats (which I will provide) to prevent her from looking for food on the ground, taking too long on her walks, or not wanting to walk at all if her arthritis is acting up that day.
If this sounds like a good fit for you, please get in touch, and include the following (this list is not optional, please include everything listed):
A bit about yourself
Where you would be traveling from on a daily basis
Experience with dogs or dog-walking
Any other work, studies, or hobbies that you do
Some sort of social media, LinkedIn, or other way to verify your identity
A resume if you have it, or if you are a student, a recent transcript or enrollment verification letter
