Additionally, the role involvesmanaging end-user devices and ensuring adherence to organizational standards.Under the general supervision of the Director of System & Network Administration, the ITSystems Administrator is responsible for the following duties:Responsibilities: Oversee the provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of virtual and physical servers,ensuring optimal performance and alignment with organizational goals. Develop and implement robust strategies under direction, including regular patch managementand an incident response plan, to proactively identify, respond to, and manage cyber threatsand incidents, thereby maintaining a strong security posture. Establish proactive monitoring system performance, detect outages and performance issuesensuring swift resolution and minimal disruption to operation. Guide and investigate and resolve complex system issues through in-depth analysis, andcollaboration with cross functioning teams. Administer and maintain user directories across both on-premises and cloud-basedenvironments. Manage DNS and DHCP infrastructure to ensure reliable network operations. Direct the provisioning and management of email accounts and resolve issues related to mailflow and email security. Allocate and oversee storage resources for systems and users. Oversee and ensure the execution of regular backups for infrastructure and user data, andeffectively manage recovery procedures to maintain data integrity and availability Promote continuous professional development and stay informed about the latest technologicaladvancements and industry advancements. Establish standards for creating and maintaining detailed documentation of workflows, businessprocesses, and system configurations. Oversee and support the management of end-user devices, ensuring they meet organizationalstandards.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
An equivalent of ten years of experience post-high school that can be met by one of the following: ten years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology related position; an Associate's degree plus eight years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution plus six years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position
Demonstrated English Language proficiency
A Motor Vehicle Driver's license, valid in New York State, may be required for some, but not all positions.
This title has three levels. Basic understanding of networking concepts and technologies. Proficiency with automation tools (e.g., SCCM, Ansible) and system performance monitoringtools. Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Objects (GPO). Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Perl, etc. Proficiency with cloud services such as Azure and AWS. In-depth knowledge of Office 365 administration and configuration. Familiarity with DNS management technologies like BIND. Understanding of mail protocols including SMTP, POP, IMAP, DMARC, SPF, and DKIM. Awareness of business continuity and disaster recovery concepts and procedures.
