Find your place in finance on #TeamAmex.DescriptionGlobal Commercial Services (GCS) provides a range of card programs and expense management tools to help large, medium, and small businesses around the world manage almost all the facets of their business spending. The GCS Lead Financial Office (LFO) team is responsible for providing financial management, decision support, and planning & results analysis to the Chief Commercial Officer and her direct reports to help achieve BU and AXP financial targets. The team works closely with GCS business partners and multiple Finance teams to drive insights which have a meaningful impact on GCS business strategy.This position will be part of a team focused on strategic decision support for the AP Automation portfolio, within GCS’ Corporate Solutions / B2B line of business. The B2B Solutions finance team drives results by creating insights that the finance and business teams can leverage to influence key strategic decisions. Areas of support include product constructs, pricing, investment optimization, partnerships, and new product launches, among others.The team collaborates and interacts with key finance teams across AXP as well as our GCS and GMNS business partners, risk, controllership, and other cross-functional teams to help deliver against the strategic and financial objectives. To be successful, the candidate will need to partner with the business teams to help them understand the financial impacts of decisions as well as provide financial insights that can be used to modify current and future product decisions. Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to prioritize effectively, passion for the business, resourcefulness, and comfort working in an unstructured environment are essential for success in this position.Responsibilities

Provide decision support to the GCS B2B Solutions product team:

Identify and create analyses that support business decisions to improve product economics and provide insights into the external environment

Partner with product team to develop strategies involving investments in products / partnerships

Query, curate, and analyze large data sets (Cornerstone / SQL / Yellowbrick), and use data to substantiate and inform business strategy

Analyze product profitability and influence strategic decisions through financial analyses

Own recurring Finance processes:

Complete strategic and financial planning processes (e.g., monthly R&Os and reviews, long-range plan, annual plan, and investment optimization)

Analyze portfolio / market trends and identify key drivers of forecasted performance

Lead coordination and financial storytelling efforts for B2B:

Consolidate presentation materials from cross-functional teams and ensure overall narrative is aligned with all stakeholders (e.g., monthly results decks, investments summary, LRP / Plan consolidation, etc.)

Complete ad hoc analyses as needed

Qualifications
