Job DescriptionExciting Opportunity at MSK: Join our Department of Medical Physics as Medical Dosimetrist. Eligible experienced dosimetrists (e.g., two or more years full-time equivalent as a Dosimetrist) may be able to work in a hybrid arrangement with an estimated 10 onsite days per year. Role Overview: As a key team member, you will provide treatment planning support for patients undergoing external beam radiotherapy, working closely with radiation oncologists, physicists, and therapists. Key Qualifications:
Certification or eligibility for certification by the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB).
A strong understanding of physics principles, radiation therapy, and treatment planning processes.
Proficiency in performing mathematical calculations and the ability to resolve radiotherapy-related issues.
Knowledge of radiation dosimetry calibration and radiation physics.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Core Skills:
Expertise in treatment planning, dose calculation, and radiation therapy simulation.
Ability to obtain, interpret, and apply patient-specific information to develop accurate treatment plans.
Consult and collaborate effectively with radiation oncologists and therapists.
Participate in quality assurance procedures, reviewing dose calculations, documentation, and patient records.
Educate and mentor junior staff, fellows, and others on treatment planning systems and departmental policies.
Present at departmental meetings, in-service training sessions, and professional workshops.
Stay current with new procedures, techniques, and technologies in the field of medical dosimetry.
Treat all patients and colleagues with the utmost respect, ensuring their unique needs are met.
Additional Information:
Work hours: Flexible hours between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Location: One or several of the MSK campuses depending on clinical needs in a hybrid work mode: 5 onsite days per week continuously for up to 6 months, or 2 onsite days per week, or 10 onsite days per year, depending on eligibility.
