About the Role & ProgramNightline is part of the award-winning ABC News team! The 30-minute broadcast brings viewers inside stories ranging from breaking news to feature stories. Nightline has also produced numerous original documentaries available on ABC News digital platforms and Hulu.Nightline interns will be exposed to the inner-workings of a network broadcast—from pitching stories to seeing the final product on the air. Interns will experience what life in a national newsroom is like.What You Will Do
Review and log various media materials, such as video footage and interviews.
Assist in setting up equipment and helping with any logical tasks required during shoots.
Participate in essential administrative tasks crucial for the smooth operation of the show.
Research potential topics, capturing information, conducting interviews, and assisting with writing and editing scripts.
Attend editorial meetings where the Nightline team discusses potential stories, story angles, and coverage strategies.
Assist our Production Assistant team in pulling stock photos and video for our stories.
Support booking team
Required Qualifications & Skills
Curiosity about editorial content development
Proficiency in working efficiently within a team or group setting.
Ability to excel and deliver results effectively in high-pressure situations.
Knowledge and interest in current events
Preferred Qualifications
Previous internship experience in a professional newsroom setting.
Familiarity with ABC News Programming
Education
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year preferred
Major or previous coursework in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, Film/Television or a related field
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Must be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program.
Must be able to work on-site in New York City and have reliable transportation to/from work
Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are January 2025 through June 2025. Candidate must be available to work 40 hours/week in Eastern Standard time for the duration of the internship- could be nights, weekends and possible overnights
