Scribner is seeking a Publicist with a minimum of 2 years of book publicity experience and demonstrated range, publicizing books at a major New York publisher. This person will possess an expertise and interest in primarily publicizing non-fiction books across narrative non-fiction, current events, history, self-help, memoir, as well as literary and commercial fiction titles. Primary Responsibilities:

Develop and execute title-specific publicity campaigns for assigned frontlist titles

Write press materials, build media lists, pitch, and secure national and local media coverage, including author interviews, essay placements, and reviews for assigned titles

Plan and arrange in-person author events and author tour travel as warranted.

Build strong relationships with Scribner editors, authors, and agents, maintaining excellent communication regarding the status of campaigns

Provide administrative support to Director-level staff member and contribute to other department-wide duties

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills

Possess existing relationships with national and major market media outlets and journalists

Demonstrated experience, executing successful title-based media campaigns

Demonstrated booking and author tour arrangement experience

Must have good time management skills, be organized and detail-oriented, and capable of multi-tasking

Demonstrated ability to work independently, while working with and/or supporting others

Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects, work flexibly, and possess sound judgment

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree

2 years of relevant book publicity experience
