As the Publisher you would oversee the maintenance and strategic growth for a defined list of approximately 20 high quality peer-reviewed journals covering the social sciences, more specifically Population, Sociology and Human Geography. This role will report to the Executive Publisher Social Sciences Journals.As the primary publishing contract for these journals, you would work alongside leading academics, policymakers and thought leaders in the social sciences, meaning that excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively will be vital. Working with colleagues throughout the business, you will also gain valuable exposure and experience to many aspects of the publishing industry.Responsibilities include:Maintain and develop excellent relationship with external partners, who serve as Editors-in-Chief, Editorial Board Members, or Society representatives for the journals included in the program.Monitor current status of all projects in the program via reporting systems, liaising with the stakeholders as needed.Prioritize journals for development or inclusion in company initiatives, according to the company strategy.Support the management of journals by handling contract renewals or recruit new Editors-in-Chief, as necessary.Resolve queries and maintain communication with Editors and other stakeholders through email, phone, virtual meetings and occasional travel as needed.Cooperate and communicate with production, peer review management, research integrity, marketing and other internal teams concerning individual projects as well as general questions of mutual interest.Be familiar with COPE guidelines, and able to advise on ethical queries, with necessary supervision and in line with company policies.Maintain teamwork and communication with US and European editorial counterparts about specific immediate questions as well as long term strategy questions. The salary offer may vary based on work experience, education, skill level and equity.
