Req Number 80393Job DescriptionPerforms routine radiographic, neurography, urography and orthopedic radiography, fluoroscopy and special assignments. Produces high quality radiographs with minimum stress and exposure to the patient by dealing tactfully and cooperatively with patients and general public.Job Responsibility
Reviews imaging request to determine proper exam protocols. Looks for indications of WET or STAT readings.
Confirms patient identity.
Communicates effectively with patient. Translates examination into layman terms based on professional knowledge.
Performs radiographic procedures.
Reviews processed radiographs in computer system to ensure exam is viewable, anatomically correct, and required identifiers are present.
Documents exam completion in patient medical record.
Maintains cleanliness and safety of exam areas and equipment.
Monitors supply levels and informs supervisor of ordering needs.
Notifies supervisor of any radiographic equipment malfunctions.
May participate in orientation of new Technologists.
Performs related clerical duties including, but not limited to, computer data entry maintaining logs, etc.
Performs related duties, as required.
ADA Essential FunctionsJob Qualification
Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program, required.
New York State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist, required.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration, required.
Experience with Radiology Information System, PC, radiographic equipment (i.e. portable/fixed units, c-arms, fluoroscopic equipment), required.
