Core Responsibilities
Resource Planning is seeking to hire a highly motivated and dedicated professional to join its Resource Analysis team. The ideal candidate for this dynamic position must demonstrate a high energy level, understand the vital importance of Commitment to Excellence, and possess a high regard for Con Edison's Corporate Values and Mission.
The Section Manager of Resource Analysis is responsible for the development of high quality analysis, information and insight that helps shape the Company's overall electric resource strategy.
Evaluates electric resource options, performs electric system resource adequacy and economic studies using simulation models.
Liaison with NYSRC and NYISO on resource adequacy and economic planning, supports rate cases, regulatory proceedings, and other regulatory matters, evaluates energy markets and policy, and provides specialized analyses for the electric system.
The Section Manager will supervise a team of Engineers and Analysts in the preparation and communication of engineering, reliability, and economic analyses supporting the Corporate Mission and energy planning objectives.
Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
Required Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, or equivalent and 8 years of full-time planning/utility or energy related work experience, of which 3 years must have been in electric resource planning or analysis. or
Master's Degree and 6 years of full-time planning/utility or energy related work experience, of which 3 years must have been in electric resource planning or analysis.
Relevant Work Experience
Strong understanding of resource adequacy, load forecasting, heat rates, energy conversion, and engineering economics. Required
Must have knowledge of ISO/RTO markets and a keen awareness of current and emerging issues and initiatives facing such markets, including environmental goals and policy. Required
Must possess excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Required
Must be able to positively motivate employees to achieve departmental goals. Required
Advanced modeling skills with experience in resource adequacy and production-cost modeling (proficiency in GE-MARS and GE-MAPS models strongly preferred) and financial modeling. Preferred

Other Physical Demands
Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
Must be willing to travel within the CECONY and O&R service territories.
