Yahoo Sports connects fans to the sports and fantasy games they love most, providing personalized quality content and superior fan experiences every day.As the Head of Design, you will spearhead our design strategy, championing user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) across our web product and mobile applications on iOS and Android. This role is pivotal in driving design excellence, innovation, and user-centric solutions that enhance audience engagement and brand loyalty Responsibilities: Leadership and Strategy: Lead a talented design team of 15-20 members, setting clear objectives, fostering a collaborative culture, and inspiring innovation.Design Vision and Direction: Develop and execute a cohesive design strategy that aligns with our company's goals and user needs. Advocate for consistent and compelling design standards and practices across all platforms.User-Centered Design: Champion the importance of UX/UI design principles, ensuring all products are accessible, intuitive, and deliver a seamless user experience.Collaboration: Work closely with product management, engineering, content, and marketing teams to ensure design solutions meet technical, content, and business requirements.Mentorship: Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to the design team. Cultivate a culture of creativity, innovation, and continuous learning.Design Operations: Oversee the design process, tools, and methodologies to ensure efficiency, quality, and scalability. Implement metrics to measure the impact of design on user experience and business outcomes.Trend Analysis: Stay abreast of the latest design trends, technologies, and best practices. Incorporate innovative ideas and technologies to keep our products at the cutting edge. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field.15 years of experience in UI/UX design, with a proven track record of successful web and mobile application design projects.At least 5 years of leadership experience managing a design team within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.Expertise in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, InVision).Strong portfolio showcasing your work in UI/UX design across various platforms.Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.Ability to think strategically and creatively solve problems.Passionate about user-centered design and staying ahead of the latest trends and technologies.Yahoo is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
