Position SummaryThe Senior Global Payroll Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day operations of payroll service delivery to employees working at multiple international sites. Ensure timely and accurate payments, including support for processing regular and off-cycle payment runs and manage the administration of new, existing and separated global employees. Collaborate with Director, Payroll Operations to ensure updated policies and procedures for the global payroll process and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal controls. Manage payment reconciliations and inquiry handling. Serve as the global subject matter expert and escalation point for exceptions and approvals. Collaborate with the Assistant Vice President Global Tax Compliance in the development and delivery of a suite of tax services (including web-based tools) based upon the length of assignment and classification. Facilitate the review of federal, state, provincial, city, unemployment, disability taxes and garnishments to ensure accurate expatriate and non-citizen payroll administration in partnership with the external tax vendor. Manage year-end processing of tax documents and partner with clients to efficiently resolve issues. Work with the Program Services Office, NYU IT and global NYU partners to implement standardized payroll systems, processes and continuous improvement.QualificationsRequired Education:Bachelor's Degree in Finance or AccountingPreferred Education:Master's DegreeRequired Experience:3+ years progressively responsible relevant experience including US payroll tax and international pay regulations.Preferred Experience:Experience with payroll practices of higher education and not-for-profit organizations preferred. CPA.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Advanced working knowledge of Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint. Knowledge of a variety of software applications, including payroll. Strong analytical, problem solving, planning and project management skills. Ability to work flexibly and effectively in a team environment. Ability to understand long term goals and broader planning parameters and set new processes in motion to fulfill those goals. Ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously. Strong written & verbal communication skills with the ability to convey financial messages to all levels clearly.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Workday, PeopleSoft.
