Req Number 118082FLEXSTAFFWe are looking for a Licensed Physical Therapist for our external client, a world leading neurological medical center, located in Manhattan, NY.In this role you will be a part of the rehabilitation team and serve as a primary physical therapy clinician to patients and consultant to other clinical staff. You will be providing mostly individual sessions and facilitate group sessions if needed.This is a full-time, permanent job. Monday - Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm, with occasional weekends, and before and after the hours if needed.An ideal candidate for this role must be a graduate of an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) accredited school of physical therapy and have five (5) years of clinical experience as a physical therapist with a minimum two (2) years of experience in neurorehabilitation. NYS a Physical Therapist License and BLS certification are required.PLEASE NOTE: THIS JOB IS OUTSIDE OF NORTHWELL HEALTH SYSTEM.The company provides incredible benefits:

Duties & Responsibilities

Perform and document evaluations, treatments sessions, consultations, and screenings including customized plans of care. For physical therapy services, you will typically have individual 90-minute sessions for the initial examination and 60-minute follow-up sessions.

Work closely with MD/nursing departments to ensure all needs are met. Appropriate plan of care will be implemented with discussions and input from provider and patient.

Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.

Test and measure patient's neuromuscular and musculoskeletal status, functional abilities. Evaluate for integumentary and cardiopulmonary abnormalities which can limit the patient's physical and functional well-being.

Provide evaluation and recommendations for appropriate use and needs for durable medical equipment including, but not limited to, assistive devices, wheelchairs, orthoses, and exercise equipment.

Provide patient with a home exercise program and/or referral to home/outpatient rehabilitation services with education to family and/or caregivers when appropriate.

Provide information to the patient and/or family/caregivers about the proposed intervention, its material risks and expected benefits, and any reasonable alternatives.

Patient Handling skills are necessary throughout sessions. Training will be provided for site specific protocols.

Administrative responsibilities including management of daily operation, staff scheduling, attending meetings.
