New regulations, technologies and events are prompting legal departments to explore new ways to optimize their functions, reduce costs and provide value to the overall organization.We currently have a career opportunity for a Staff on our EY Law Legal Transformation Solution (LTS) team. Our LTS team works with clients to improve the performance of the legal function and add value to the overall organization. LTS serves high-profile, national, and multinational clients across the globe. We are a growing, dynamic practice with excellent opportunities for career development.The EY LTS team is focused on helping clients improve how they operate their legal function. Many clients leverage groups like LTS to bring best-in-class ideas and provide the insight and experience on how to implement these ideas. Nearly all our projects are carried out in a teaming environment with client personnel often fully involved. Our LTS team is dedicated to helping companies: (1) assess the complexities of delivering value, (2) manage risk in their corporate legal functions, and (3) improve efficiency across all aspects of the legal department - talent, processes, technology, and actionable data. Operating strategy and organizational design– assist clients in identifying improvement opportunities and developing responsive legal service delivery operating models and organizational structures

Process Optimization – design effective and controlled legal-business processes to increase efficiency, reduce risk and drive business results.

Spend analysis and strategic sourcing - perform spend analysis and correlative strategic planning for legal departments activities

Legal contracts transformation – understand contracts and contract lifecycle management (CLM) processes. Assist clients modernize, streamline, and/or automate their contracting efforts as well as leverage the data available in contracts to deliver the business actionable insights.

Digital transformation

Assist the client to maximize the value firm existing technology investments and design new legal service technology platforms (e.g., Case Management, Matter Management/ eBilling, CLM, legal service workflow, Document Management, Document Automation).

Experience with commercially available legal technology applications– assist the client in evaluating, selecting and implementing technologies that will bring faster and more efficient processing (e.g., SharePoint, Onit, Team Connect).

Apply knowledge of emerging technologies – assist the client with opportunities to leverage RPA, AI, Self Service workflows and other technology to drive efficiencies and overall cost reduction across the legal function.

Qualifications to apply:

Bachelor's degree and approximately 1 year of related work experience; or master’s degree/JD and approximately 2 years of related work experience (preferred); Information Systems, Business, Analytics, Finance, Accounting or Legal Studies (undergraduate)/JD (graduate) fields of study preferred.

Valid CPA, CIPP/E, CIPPM, CISA, CISSP, CISM, LPIP, PMP or member in good standing of the Bar in one of our 50 States

Demonstrated ability to identify and address client needs, develop client relationships and define resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing and collection

Experience within a corporate legal department is also valuable

Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills

Ability to lead multiple projects with minimal oversight

Relevant experience in one or more of the following specialty areas: a) Legal Department Operations.; b) Legal technology and innovation; c) Legal contracts and workflows/contract management; d) Legal department transformation, or e) Legal process improvement

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $69,000 to $113,700. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $82,700 to $129,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
