Job DescriptionONLY OPEN TO CURRENT FULL-TIME ANNUALLY PAID PARKS EMPLOYEESMajor Responsibilities

Under general direction, supervise, direct and is responsible for the work of carpenters and other assigned employees, including all installation and/or replacement of flooring, doors, building hardware, trim, window frames, sashes and partitions.

Assign and lay out work for carpenters and closely-allied workers.

Inspect all stages of the work progress to ensure that all work is completed in a timely manner.

Estimate job requirements from plans, specifications and field surveys.

Examine the work of contractors. Evaluate adherence to contract specifications and oversee any changes necessary.

Select and manage resources efficiently. Ensure adequate supplies and effective allocation of resources.

When necessary, supervise and lay out the heavy and rough carpentry work in the construction, maintenance and repair of shoring, bulkheads, scaffolds, dock facilities, construction sheds and promenades.

Keep and maintain accurate records and write reports.

Seven (7) years of recent, satisfactory, full time, paid experience as a carpenter, at least two (2) years of which must have been spent in duties of a supervisory nature; or

A satisfactory equivalent.
