IntroductionAt IBM, Technical Solution Architects work to understand needs and then create complex high-quality solutions that make meaningful impact. You’ll be responsible for overall leadership and delivery of the solutions from requirement gathering through implementation. You’ll use your in-depth knowledge of leading-edge products and technologies along with industry and business skills to influence outcomes.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesCommunication/Negotiation:Advise other professionals. Effectively utilize group dynamics. Negotiate to define approaches and goals.Problem Solving:Recognize complex problems related to functional objectives. Analyze situations and implement solutions, or develop new system elements, procedures or processes. Creativity and judgment applied to developmental work on different projects within the business environment.Contribution/Leadership:Provides ongoing technical /operational guidance to lead professional work teams, conducts special projects, or manages department(s) (national or international). Understand department/ functional mission and vision. Defines and decides objectives within specified business concept or project and may have responsibility for tools and assigned resources. Utilizes expertise to directly influence people outside department or function. Sometimes no precedent exists.Impact on Business/Scope:Accountable for department results and for activities and/or projects involving multi-functional teams. Regularly participates in overall functional program planning. Activities are subject to business measurements, impact customer satisfaction, and impact project costs or expenses.Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Leads smaller to mid-size deals and assists on larger deals.

Assists TSM on larger complex opportunities

Is able to understand client pain points/requirements

Very strong skills on data manipulation, excel/tools

Understands the technical aspects of the deal, skills on MVS portfolio

Develops a strong understanding of offerings and how they relate and get bundled into a large deal

Leads client MVS workshops

Collaborates and acts as a bridge between Sales/Delivery/Brand Team/Offerings teams

Strong understanding of cognitive tools

Assist to Create competitive cost case

Participates in client proposal/response creation and contract negotiations

In area of technology specialty, ability to explain solution risks and reasoning for costs

Has deep financial modeling skills

Linkage to transition, would stay engaged longer than TSM and will help transition

Knows how to Build client and executive presentations

Software /open source knowledge a must
