They work embedded within the software engineering team, and may also run user experience research and usability studies. Work extensively with business users to understand needs and provide definition to the business problems that need solving. Collaborate with business & engineering leaders to identify new product opportunities, define problems & goals, and map user flows Define user experiences for new and existing internal products in the financial space Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and production quality visual designs Work within and maintain our design system, setting standards for color, type and interaction Collaborate with designers across other teams to workshop solutions, share insights and feedback, and help to grow the firm's design culture Validate designs and concepts through usability testing Work across the firm with other teams to ensure accuracy and consistency, and to build consensusBASIC QUALIFICATIONS 2 - 3 years of experience understanding of web standards, capabilities, and best practices around common web technology 2 - 3 years of experience Wireframe / visual design; ability to use modern design tools to design and prototype designs (Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, In Vision, Principle, etc.) Written and verbal communication skills across users and engineers. Basic understanding of HTML / CSS (coding ability is not required but is a significant plus) Experience working directly with end users Experience in the Financial Services space is a plusThe expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $115000-$180000.
