As opposed to other restaurants in the group, We focus more deeply on serving the adults of the neighborhood — bringing expertly crafted cocktails, wine, and a tightly curated menu to Park Slope.

WHAT WE NEED:
The role of the Bar Manager (BM) is to oversee servers, bartenders and bussers, barbacks as well as the many operations vital to the establishment. The BM must lead by example and embody the group's brand, while ensuring all FOH staff deliver the best possible guest experience. The BM will also help seat guests on a nightly basis, and "steer the ship" to ensure all guests have a great experience. Must have bartending experience and be able to jump behind the bar whenever needed.
Responsibilities associated with this role Include, but are not limited to:
Help build and maintain weekly schedules for FOH Staff, posting well in advance
Maintaining appropriate levels of staff (adding, removing as necessary) on a per-day, and often per-shift basis. Handling call-outs, vacation requests and covering last-minute shifts
Leading new staff orientations comprising of onboarding, notes on dress code, required training videos and scheduling training
Establishing and maintaining Training Programs specific to various roles within FOH
Take all reasonable and necessary measures to ensure that we obtain (or maintain) a letter grade of “A” from the DOH
Take personal responsibility for all workings of the bar floor. Problem solving, not pointing out problems, is essential
Support the actions and decisions of fellow managers in the presence of the staff to ensure a cohesive management team
Suggesting and implementing disciplinary action when necessary, with fellow management team members serving as witness
Meet regularly with the executive chef and the beverage director to make sure FOH staff knows, and is trained on, any menu additions or specials.
Develop and maintain a positive and working relationship with the BOH team
Manage processes for opening and closing, ensuring that standards are being met
Participate in service by leading through positive example and being proactive to solutions.
Assisting in auditing all FOH staff clock ins/outs on a daily basis for submission of payroll data to bookkeeper at week’s end
● Being the eyes and ears of the owners when they are not around. Making sound decisions, seeking help when appropriate, and communicating consistently with owners and Director of Operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 3 years bartending at a high-end, high-volume bar
- Management experience . . can be as a head bartender, floor lead, or similar role
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Available and willing to work nights and weekends, generally approx 2pm - 11pm, 5 days per week
