Experienced Sous Chef for Mexican Restaurant

Our full-service Mexican restaurant is looking for an experienced Mexican food sous chef to join our team. This role reports to our Executive Chef and will help assist in the running of the kitchen and the management of the kitchen staff.

Additional responsibilities include:

Leading by example, demonstrating culinary skills, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence.

Overseeing the day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.

Managing the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes, maintaining high standards of quality and consistency with our recipes.

Training and mentoring kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

Maintaining rigorous quality control measures to ensure that every dish meets the established standards.

Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, implementing best practices to maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.

Creating staff schedules, taking into account business demands and individual team members’ availability.

Managing shift rotations and breaks to maintain an efficient and motivated kitchen team.

Implementing strategies to minimize food wastage and control operational costs.

The right candidate will have at least 5 years experience in a senior manager role in a busy kitchen. The right candidate must have their food handlers card. The right candidate will have strong communication and leadership skills. The right candidate must have experience cooking Mexican food.
